Drawing by Charles Bargue representing a seated Venus. The sculpture used as model is against of "Praxitelian style", which is characterized by grace and delicacy of movements, an increasing contraposto and an attenuation of the features bringing softness to the anatomical details.

Praxiteles is one of the most renowned sculptors of ancient Greece and know as the first who have represented a naked woman, sculpture of Aphrodite of Cnidus.

The Bargue plate has been carefully restored before being printed in lithography at full-size and high-resolution, so that it can be made available to art students as it was originally in the 19th century.

Printed on a 19th-century lithographic press, on grey-blue tinted fine art paper (350g). Ideal for charcoal or graphite pencil copying.

Plate Size: 17 x 24"
